The French teenager who helped America gain its independence
Marquis De Lafayette came from France to join forces with George Washington when he was just 19. Washington treated him like the son he never had, and when Lafayette was wounded he returned to Paris to lobby the French to help even more. NBC’s Harry Smith reports.
