David Bowie kept cancer secret, allowed new album ‘to speak for itself’
Joe Levy of Rolling Stone comments on David Bowie’s legacy and outlines how the rock icon was an inspiration to people in the ‘70s, 80’s, 90’s, and beyond. Bowie died just days after his 69th birthday and the release of his album “Blackstar,” and Levy says that by keeping his cancer battle private, Bowie allowed his art “to speak for itself.”
