Brit actor Richard Reid will play Ian, a character said to be inspired by royal confidant and nightclub impresario Guy Pelly. Reid's father happens to be Sir Alan Reid, the Keeper of the Privy Purse, also known as the Queen's chief accountant.

The younger Reid originally auditioned to play William. "I saw that they called me in for an audition and I guess it's every British man's dream to actually be a prince," he tells me. "I think we're all pretty jealous of them."

However, Reid knew he'd turn down the job if he got it. "It probably wasn't a role I'd be able to do at the end of the day," he says. "I think my dad would have stepped in and put the brakes on it...I think my dad is happy and a lot more comfortable than he would have been if I had been playing William."

Reid revealed he has met the royal family, but he was tight-lipped on details. "I can't really say much about that," he says.

He hasn't met the real Guy Pelly, but hopes to one day...maybe. "It depends on how he thinks I represent him. I might be public enemy number one," he says. "[But] he sounds like a lot of fun. He's definitely the kind of person I would like to spend a night with drinking. I think it can be quite an incredible night."
