Actor Josh Hartnett was rushed to the emergency room early Monday morning, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“Josh Hartnett walked into an ambulance at approximately 1:45 a.m. this morning suffering from a flare-up of a gastro-intestinal problem that plagued him while he was starring in the west end of London during the production of ‘Rain Man,’” publicist Susan Patricola said in a statement released to Access.

She added that the 30-year-old actor “is under observation but is resting comfortably.”

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to Access Hollywood that a 911 call came in at 12:53 a.m. on Monday from the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood for someone complaining of abdominal pains. A department rep could not confirm the identity of the person transported to an L.A.-area hospital.

“We do not have a Josh Hartnett currently staying with us. Because of patient confidentiality I am not prepared to confirm if he was treated here or not,” a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center emergency room nurse told RadarOnline, which first reported the news.

According to Variety, production on Harnett’s latest movie, “Queen Of The South,” co-starring Eva Mendes and Ben Kingsley, was halted last week when director Jonathan Jakubowicz claimed that a Mexican drug cartel threatened him for making the film.
