According to the Knot.com, 40 percent of all wedding proposals occur between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day. So, this being the season of love, the “Today” show extended their own hand, offering to help three guys "pop the question" to their girlfriends — with the engagement of their dreams. Here’s more from our special series, “Will You Marry Me.”

Join the love train
Between chasing 911 calls and patrolling the city, two of New York’s finest fell in love with the streets of New York as their backdrop. George Mauras and Karen Perez are both officers with the NYPD. Before the real proposal, George set Karen up on a bunch of wild goose chases, sending her to where she thought she was going to get engaged. The final stop was the New York Botanical Garden holiday train show in the Bronx. A toy train with a ring box bearing Karen’s name stopped in front of where the couple was standing — and that is where the proposal took place. They were engaged Jan. 6th, 2006.

Parisian prescription for romance
Doctors DeWayde Perry and Lisa Pomranky spent their three-day romantic rendezvous at the Hôtel Lutetia, built on an ancient vineyard overlooking the Left Bank, in Paris, France. DeWayde popped the big question in the hotel’s Arman Suite, with views of the Eiffel Tower and a painting he commissioned specifically for the event. The couple certainly painted the town red, making sure to explore the city’s most spectacular tourist destinations, including the Louvre, the Pont-Neuf, Isle Saint-Louis and Ile de la Cité, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre and Sacré-Coeur, the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe. The highlight of DeWayde and Lisa’s excursion was aboard the bateaux-mouches riverboat, where the couple enjoyed a private dinner while coasting along the Seine River. Now that’s amore!
Scott Riehl and Anne Bitner cooked up some romance in the Umbrian capital of Perugia at the Hotel Brufani Palace. The couple had a private tour of the Perugina chocolate factory.  Scott and Anne also took a half-day cooking lesson with the Hotel Brufani’s Chef Marco and learned to how to prepare authentic Umbrian cuisine.  In the evening the couple dined at the hotel restaurant Collins from the same menu they had learned to prepare earlier that day.  Their memories include a tour of the city’s historic center, good food and wine and a proposal to remember.
