"I feel like we're close," the chef-author, 45, told People Now in an interview posted online two days before Wednesday's Season-8 "Real Housewives of New York City" premiere. "I feel like justice is being served. It's being handled the way that it should be. It's gone on way too long. I never wanted it to go more than a few months."

Frankel announced in 2012 that she and her second husband, Jason Hoppy, were separating. Formal divorce proceedings began in 2014 and quickly became contentious, partly because of their custody battle over daughter Bryn, who turns 6 next month.

"I feel like I survived something," she said. "When it all shakes down, I'll be a woman who has not, kinda, just felt backed into a corner. I stayed strong, and I did what was best for myself, [for] my daughter [and] for women."

Frankel also commended Bryn for her disposition. "She's an amazing, amazing little girl," she said. "She's so happy. She's not really aware of what's going on, which is great. I'm proud of that, because it's been — it has, by far, been the most difficult thing that I've ever been through. And most of the men that I know say they couldn't have gotten through it."
