Kate arrived at the seaside spot dressed in an animal print — but what animal was it? While the pattern resembled a black-and-white cheetah print from a distance, British label Hobbs calls the now sold-out look "Dalmatian."

But there were no Cruella vibes with this outfit. The straight lines, high neck and busy print were simply eye-catching — though not so eye-catching as to distract from the striking images in the "Self: Image and Identity" exhibit that she was there to see.

The 33-year-old is patron of the National Portrait Gallery, and her visit to Turner Contemporary was in support of that. The current exhibit is a study in self-portraiture, spanning a wide range of styles and media and including works such as Jeremy Millar's "Self Portrait as a Drowned Man" (above).

If Duchess Kate's own look seems familiar to dedicated Royal watchers, that's because it's a fashion do-over for her. She debuted the look at the June 2013 naming of the Royal Princess cruise liner — just 9 days before giving birth to Prince George.
