Honeymoons should always be filled with excitement — but not the near-death kind!

During a visit to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Friday, actor John Krasinski told DeGeneres about a harrowing experience he and wife Emily Blunt had on their honeymoon years ago, while 100 feet deep in the ocean.

"I love to terrify my wife if I can," Krasinski joked. Well John, mission accomplished.

Having snorkeled with sharks the day prior, Krasinski and Blunt were gearing up for a similarly mellow (albeit deeper in the ocean) scuba-diving session, when their instructor threw them in with gray reef sharks. According to Krasinski, these bad boys are no joke. "Every shark looks like Jaws, but these really look like Jaws," he said, referring to the great white shark from the 1975 classic film. "And they're huge...And they swim very close."

Once in the water, as only Krasinski looked on, a shark "started to charge Emily." Krasinski's decision? "I just let it ride," he confessed to gasps and laughs from the audience.

Luckily, after seeing the shark, Blunt managed to collect herself and ended up just fine. A new friend even swam up to the actress and offered some comfort. "A sea turtle came up, put his arm around her, and then started petting her head," Krasinski said.

We bet if Krasinski — who recently made headlines for getting fit for his role in "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi" — looked like this back then, the shark wouldn't have dared gone anywhere near Blunt!
