Want to house sit for Nastia Liukin while she’s in Rio? The retired gymnast and Olympic champion is renting out her luxe high-rise Boston Harbor apartment on Airbnb while she’s away commentating for the 2016 Olympics. Liukin shares the Beantown space with her fiancé Matt Lombardi.
Besides the swanky accommodations and the fun experience of watching her on TV from her own house, it’s all for a good cause. All proceeds from the $1,250 a night listing will benefit a nonprofit that is close to Liukin's heart, the Corey C. Griffin Foundation, which provides healthcare and education to families in need as well as a support network for young men and women with a passion for entrepreneurship.
The one bedroom, one bath apartment features an open living room and kitchen area covered in gorgeous hardwood floors. A granite countertop island separates the two spaces and doubles as a dining table for two. Stainless steel appliances and mahogany cabinets give the kitchen a cozy and luxurious feel. This open living space is Liukin's favorite part of the apartment, because it's ideal for entertaining. "It’s all one open space and we love having friends over to cook and hang out," Liukin says.
Liukin, who has lived there for about a year with Lombardi (their wedding is slated for June of 2017), decorated the place in neutral colors, and has added special and unique touches throughout. From cookbooks on the kitchen counter, to scented candles on the living room coffee table, there are delightful accessories in every room of the house.
