Lea Michele posts tribute 3 years after Cory Monteith's death

On Wednesday, to mark the anniversary of his death, the actress once again offered a tribute to the star.

It's been three years since Lea Michele's partner — both on and off screen — Cory Monteith died. Since that sad occasion, the actress has posted a number of birthday and anniversary tributes to him. Recently she even shared a photo of a new tattoo in Monteith's honor.

And on Wednesday, to mark the anniversary of the actor's passing, she once again offered a tribute to the star who died at just 31 years old.

The photo she shared shows Monteith from a distance as he looked out beyond the shore of a lava-rock-covered beach.

"We may not have gotten to share a lifetime together.. But the memories.. they're the best of my life," she wrote, adding, "Love you Cory."

Michele posted the same photo on Twitter, but she paired it with a different message.

"I know everyday you're watching over me, and smiling," she said in the tweet.

Monteith and Michele met on the set of "Glee." They began dating in 2011, and remained together until his death from an accidental drug overdose in 2013.
