Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed pineapple
  • 2 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rum
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon bone-in ham
  • 8 tablespoon whole cloves

Preparation

Baking Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Combine the crushed pineapple, vinegar, brown sugar, rum and butter in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Using a very sharp knife, score the skin in crosshatch pattern and place the ham in a roasting pan.

Stud the ham with the cloves and garnish with the sliced pineapple.

Brush the ham thoroughly with the glaze and add about 1 cup of water to the bottom of the roasting pan, place the ham in the oven and bake for 45 minutes to an hour.

Basting every 15 minutes, during the last 15 minutes, turn the temperature up to 450°F and crisp the skin.
