Donald Trump: ‘Waterboarding would be fine’ to interrogate Paris terror suspect
Speaking to TODAY by telephone as reports of apparent terror attacks in Brussels continue to come in, Republican front-runner Donald Trump says that Brussels used to be “one of the safest cities in the world” but is now “catastrophic and dangerous.” He says that if he had been president when reports of the attack came in, he would have been “very tough on the borders” and would not have allowed people in the country without proper documentation. He says that people should “be able to do whatever they have to do” to obtain information from Salah Abdeslam, suspect in last year’s Paris terror attacks; “waterboarding, if it was up to me, would be fine,” he said, and “a lot more than waterboarding.” Trump says “I am in the camp where you have to get the information and you have to get it rapidly.”
