NTSB: Airliner captain took control just before rough landing
The National Transportation Safety Board says the captain of a Southwest Airlines jet whose rough landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport injured 16 people took control of the plane from the first officer when the aircraft was just 400 feet from the ground. Aviation experts say it’s rare to change command of an aircraft so close to landing unless there’s a serious safety issue.
