NBC News medical correspondent Dr. John Torres joins TODAY to talk about alarming new data showing that the coronavirus is impacting African Americans at a disproportionately high rate. He acknowledges a “genetic component” in African Americans toward underlying conditions such as high blood pressure, but also point to socioeconomic conditions causing black Americans to be in more situations where they’re exposed to the virus, and to be more vulnerable to it. He also calls in-person voting in Wisconsin “a head-scratcher.”April 8, 2020
