US reimposes sanctions on Iran
The U.S. has begun reimposing economic sanctions on Iran that had been eased after the landmark 2015 nuclear accord. President Trump tweeted Tuesday that they are “the most biting sanctions ever imposed.” The first group of sanctions target Iran's auto, precious metals and steel industries.
