Trump testing czar Brett Giroir: ‘None of us lie’ about coronavirus crisis

Admiral Brett Giroir, assistant secretary of health and the Trump administration’s testing coordinator, tells TODAY that despite coronavirus spikes across the country, “early indicators are that we’ve turned the corner.” Regarding long lines for tests and long waits for results, he acknowledges, “there is a lag time in some of the commercial laboratories because the demand is so very high.” He expresses optimism about getting children back into school physically, calling the risks to them “very small.” He defends the veracity of the coronavirus task force: “We may make mistakes occasionally, but none of us lie.”
