Trump in lead as Iowa set to vote, Cruz’s ‘voting violations’ drawing ire


As TODAY broadcasts a special edition on the day of the Iowa caucuses, the first contest of the 2016 presidential election, Republican candidates are looking for last-minute support. Donald Trump leads in Iowa polls and a Trump win could make him unstoppable for the GOP nomination. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz is drawing heat for sending mail labeled ‘voting violation’ to Iowans to try and motivate them to caucus today. NBC national correspondent Peter Alexander reports for TODAY.
