Trump faces backlash for aligning with Putin after summit
President Trump arrived back in the U.S. early Tuesday, hailing his historic summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin as a success. Several Republican and Democratic leaders, however, expressed outrage over Trump’s tone toward Russia as well as his statements on the U.S. intelligence community. Trump and Putin both appeared on Fox News to further deny Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, a move met by widespread criticism, NBC’s Peter Alexander reports for TODAY.
