Trump-Cohen tapes can lead to ‘legal problems’ for president, analyst says

02:33

NBC News political analyst Nicolle Wallace joins TODAY to discuss the significance of the newly released audio tapes of President Trump and lawyer Michael Cohen discussing payments to buy Playboy model Karen McDougal’s story of an alleged Trump affair. Wallace says the tapes are accompanied with several revelations: “One, Donald Trump was deeply involved in the intricacies of hush money to women with whom he’d had alleged sexual relationships,” she said. “Two, that he is not in trouble is knocked down by the idea that he is not telling his supporters. … And three, they know they have legal problems. They’re campaign finance violations that are made pretty clear by the timing of this conversation.”
