NBC News contributor Dr. Joseph Fair, a virologist, tells TODAY that the grim estimates of coronavirus deaths released by the White House Tuesday will apply “only if all 50 states are doing the same thing,” which they currently are not. He says social distancing guidelines should be in place for “six to 10 weeks,” starting today, and may require police to be enforced. NBC News medical correspondent Dr. John Torres tells TODAY that the CDC may soon recommend people wear face masks.
