Shopping malls prepare to welcome back customers as unemployment skyrockets


NBC business correspondent Jo Ling Kent reports for TODAY from the Beverly Center shopping mall in Los Angeles, where employee temperature checks, hand sanitizer stations and limited elevator ridership are being instituted to help shoppers feel safe when stores reopen. A new report says that more than half of malls with department stores could close over the next year in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
