Sgt. Maj. Bennie Adkins, a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his brave actions as a Green Beret in Vietnam, who went on to start a foundation offering college scholarships to members of the special forces transitioning into civilian life, has died from complications from the coronavirus at age 86. He will be buried next to his late wife, Mary, at Arlington National Cemetery. Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well-lived.
