Santa Monica police chief: ‘Second group’ of protesters brought violence


After Santa Monica, California, was placed on overnight curfew after a sudden explosion of violence there Sunday, police chief Cynthia Renaud tells TODAY that there were two groups in the streets: peaceful protesters and a second large group of looters. She describes “cars of people coming into the city intent on looting.”
