Fitness guru Richard Simmons hasn’t been seen publicly in over two years, and even his friends say they aren’t sure why. In a phone interview late Sunday, Simmons tells TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie that, contrary to some rumors, “no one is holding me as a hostage.” “I just wanted to be a little bit of a loner for a while,” Simmons said, citing injuries to his knees. “Not to worry, Richard’s fine,” he added. “You haven’t seen the last of me.”March 14, 2016
