Private school in Manhattan ends policy that separated students by race for homeroom

The Little Red Schoolhouse, a costly private school in Manhattan, is ending a controversial policy where students were separated into homerooms by race. The school’s director says the policy, put in place over the last year, was supposed to help students find social support, while critics called it reminiscent of segregation. NBC’s Stephanie Gosk reports for TODAY.
