Music superstar Pharrell Williams has been very involved in the push to make Juneteenth a paid holiday in his home state of Virginia, an effort that became a reality earlier this week. Now he talks to TODAY about making Juneteenth a nationwide holiday. He says Black Americans “never really had our Independence Day like we should have” and calls a federal Juneteenth holiday “the human right thing to do.”June 19, 2020
