Norman Mineta was 10 years old when he and his family were taking from their home in California to a Japanese internment camp. Later in life, he served in the U.S. Army and became the first Asian-American mayor of a major U.S. city. He also served in the cabinets of Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush.
