NFL vows to ‘vigorously’ fight Aaron Hernandez lawsuit

01:32

The NFL is vowing to fight a lawsuit filed this week by the estate of former New England Patriot tight end Aaron Hernandez. An autopsy conducted earlier this year showed Hernandez, a convicted killer who was found dead in his jail cell in April, reportedly suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). The suit alleges that the league knew Hernandez had sustained serious injuries while playing but failed to protect him. NBC’s Stephanie Gosk reports for TODAY.
