Heat waves are continuing to scorch much of the U.S. with millions facing record-setting temperatures and high humidity. A mind-boggling 283,000 acres have now gone up in smoke in the Mendocino Complex fire in California. The area now burning is bigger than New York City and Philadelphia combined.
