Meet the 22-year-old who survived an internal decapitation


When Brock Meister, 22, got into a car accident in January 2018, doctors said he suffered an internal decapitation — his skull had separated from his spine. His physicians were certain that surgery would result in either death or paralysis, but Meister survived with his mobility. Meister joins Megyn Kelly TODAY alongside his mother, Jenna, and his surgeon, Dr. Kasif Shaikh, to share his survival story that beat the odds.
