Hadas (Dasi) Fruchter, 28, is making waves in her religious community by becoming a rabbanit, a term traditionally meaning “wife of a rabbi” but now being reclaimed by some to mean female scholar. Though there's no explicit law stating women can't lead an Orthodox Jewish service, it is tradition that only men can.
