New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio tells TODAY that the worst of coronavirus outbreak in the New York area “is in the next few weeks minimum” and “I could see the numbers going into May.” He says that 20,000 hospital beds in the city will have to be turned into intensive care beds for “really sick” COVID-19 patients. According to projections, he says, “it gets a lot worse before it gets better.”
