Manhunt underway for man suspected of murdering George H.W. Bush’s former doctor
After almost two weeks of uncertainty, Houston police say they have identified a suspect in the murder of Dr. Mark Hausknecht, an esteemed cardiologist who had treated former President George H.W. Bush. Officials say a tip led them to the suspect, Joseph James Pappas, who they believe to be armed and dangerous. Officials believe the suspect may have had a long-time grudge after his mother died on the operating table under the doctor’s care two decades ago. NBC’s Tammy Leitner reports for TODAY.
