Lifelong ASL advocate Barbara Kannapell dies at 83

Barbara Kannapell, who spent her adult life advocating for deaf people around the world, has died at age 83. Kannapell, also active in the gay rights movement, co-founded the group Deaf Pride, which sought to help hearing-impaired people by making schools, hospitals and other public places more accessible. Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well lived.
