Life well lived: New York City firefighter and 9/11 hero Ray Pfeifer dies at 59

Ray Pfeifer, who served more than 27 years as a New York City firefighter and spent months digging through debris after the Sept. 11 attacks, died this week on Long Island at the age of 59. He spent the last years of his life fighting for health care for Sept. 11 first responders. His friend Jon Stewart, who also championed his cause, remembered him at his funeral.
