Lawrence Wright’s new novel reflects real-life coronavirus pandemic


Known for his nonfiction best-sellers about al Qaeda and Scientology, Lawrence Wright has written his first novel, “The End of October,” about a global pandemic – and it’s mirroring today’s reality in an almost frightening way. TODAY’s Harry Smith speaks with Wright, who says, “Sometimes I’m reading a newspaper and it feels like I’m reading a chapter of my novel.”
