Kate Winslet on ‘Jobs’: ‘I threw my hat in the ring’

04:27

In the new film “Steve Jobs,” Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet plays Joanna Hoffman, an Apple marketing executive who was said to be one of the few people who could stand up to Jobs. Winslet says the Polish-born Hoffman had “one of the hardest accents I’ve ever had to do” and that Hoffman “wasn’t afraid” of Jobs, whom she says had a softer side that many people don’t appreciate. She admits she was eager to be in the film and “threw my hat in the ring” for the opportunity.
