Jimmy Bennett, the 22-year-old man who alleges actress Asia Argento sexually assaulted him at age 17, spoke out for the first time Wednesday. The New York Times reported earlier this week that Argento paid Bennett $380,000 after he alleged sexual assault. Argento denied the assault claims, but acknowledged her then-boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain, paid Bennett. In a statement to NBC News, Bennett said in part, “I was underage when the event took place, and I tried to seek justice in a way that made sense to me at the time.” Meanwhile, images not obtained or verified by NBC News surfaced online allegedly showing an exchange between Argento and a friend discussing the relationship. NBC’s Kristen Dahlgren reports for TODAY.Aug. 23, 2018
