In 2003, Army private Jessica Lynch was severely injured, captured and eventually rescued in the early days of the Iraq War. Talking to TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie, she says she still attends physical therapy weekly and still has nightmares about her experiences. She also talks about enduring backlash surrounding “fabricated stories” about her supposed heroism during the incident: “I want to make sure that the people who deserves the credit gets the credit.
