The force of Superstorm Sandy washed away the pier and destroyed Jersey Shore’s iconic rollercoaster. In the last few weeks, the push to rebuild has reached a frenzy for mainstays around the boardwalk, with residents and shopkeepers saying that reopening is the next step in the healing process.
