    Indonesia plane crash: 189 people were on board

    A Lion Air Boeing 737 traveling from Jakarta to Sumatra crashed shortly after takeoff on Sunday, Indonesian officials said. It was a new passenger plane with 189 people on board, including three infants. There was no distress signal and weather clear, raising questions about why the plane went down.
