Homeless vet accuses couple of stealing GoFundMe money raised on his behalf02:17
A sweet gesture by Johnny Bobbitt, a veteran experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia, went viral last fall after he offered his last $20 to help a woman, Kate McLure, whose car ran out of gas. His kindness inspired thousands of people to donate more than $400,000 to a GoFundMe campaign set up by McLure and her boyfriend on Bobbitt’s behalf. But now, Bobbitt says he has only seen a fraction of the money — and he’s accusing the couple who helped raised the funds of spending the rest of it. NBC’s Matt Bradley reports for TODAY.
