Head of Instagram: ‘We should have started earlier’ to combat foreign interference

In an exclusive interview on the app’s 10th anniversary, Instagram head Adam Mosseri tells TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie that the 2020 election “is a huge test not only for Instagram and Facebook, but for the industry at large” and that “we should have started investing more, years earlier than we did” to protect against foreign interference. He also says the film “The Social Dilemma” is “very one-sided and a bit sensational” and talks about the potential U.S. ban on TikTok, saying it would set “a really powerful precedent for countries all over the world.”
