Harvey Weinstein faces extradition to California for criminal sex assault charges

Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s request to block extradition to California was denied Tuesday by a New York judge, who ordered him sent to Los Angeles immediately. Last year, Weinstein was convicted of third-degree rape in New York and sentenced to 23 years in prison. In California, he’s been charged with 11 counts of sexual assault involving five different women.June 16, 2021
