In her first interview since signing the bill to remove the Confederate flag from the grounds of the South Carolina Capitol, Gov. Nikki Haley tells TODAY’s Matt Lauer that she’s proud of the people of South Carolina, and that she’s thinking of the nine people killed in a shooting spree at a historic African-American church in Charleston. “Hopefully the Emanuel Nine are looking down and they’re proud,” she says.
