Friendly interruption: How a stray dog changed one athlete’s life
Long-distance runner Dion Leonard always embraced adventure and challenges, but he didn’t know that during one ultramarathon through China’s Gobi Desert his whole life would change. On the second day of the race, Leonard noticed he had a follower that wouldn’t leave his side: a stray dog. Leonard and the dog, named Gobi, are now in each other’s lives for the long run and live back home in Scotland. TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager reports.
