Former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama make veiled critiques of Trump era
Former President George W. Bush delivered a rare speech warning against the breakdown of American democracy and civic engagement but did not name President Trump outright. “Bullying and prejudice in our public life … provides permission for cruelty and bigotry,” the 43rd president said Thursday. Former President Barack Obama also made a veiled swipe against Trump at campaign rallies in New Jersey and Virginia. NBC’s Andrea Mitchell has the report for TODAY.
