Floyd Welch was 20 years old while stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1941 when Japanese soldiers began their attack on the naval base during World War II. Welch and fellow sailors were able to rescue men from the water by boat and cut through the steel hull of a battleship to save 32 more. He died on Monday at age 99. Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well-lived.
