Elizabeth Smart fears for safety amid kidnapper’s release

Elizabeth Smart is speaking out, urging officials to reconsider the planned release of Wanda Barzee, the woman who pled guilty for her role in Smart’s 2002 kidnapping. Smart said she believes Barzee is not just a threat to her, “but to every vulnerable person in our community.” Barzee, who was set to remain in prison until 2024, is now scheduled to get out in a matter of days. NBC’s Stephanie Gosk reports for TODAY.
