Joining TODAY live, Dr. Anthony Fauci says that if the AstraZeneca vaccine is all that new data from Great Britain says it is, “that’s good news … we’re going to have multiple candidates in the mix.” While “we’re getting better and better” at rolling out the vaccine, “we still have a demand that far exceeds the supply,” he says, so a new plan to ship vaccines to pharmacies “is good news.” He adds that while mutant strains of the coronavirus are not yet dominant in the U.S., “we may need to upgrade the vaccine” to deal with them.Feb. 3, 2021
